User can choose to add notes, captions, any of the advanced options, and any of the SOM (Screencasto-matic) alternatives. It will direct the user to the fill the title and outline, then click on the question mark subsequent to "Custom Link." This gives the information about the custom links. After user registers, it will direct the user to their video in Screencast-o-matic. The link directs to browser window and on the right side the user can register by filling the form. If user publishes to Screencast-o-matic, user will be able to create a free account. User has the options on the right side of the screen. In the preview window, user can watch the video by clicking the play button in the bottom left corner of the window. If user get the bar at the top of the browser, click "Run this time," or "Always run on this site" if user use Screen-cast-o-matic often, user may get prompt for using different browser then just click "Run." 7.
The limit on a Screencast-o-matic video is 15 minutes. User sees the volume level and timer at the bottom. At the bottom of the screen, user sees an options while recording.
Screencast-o-matic starts to count down from 3 and records. When user is ready, click the record button to start the video. There user can choose to use webcam, or to turn it off. Next to the dimensions, user sees a webcam option. User can either use these, or user can set their own by clicking and dragging the small boxes around the area. Next to volume control, user sees dimension presets.
Next to the audio button user sees the volume control button. User sees a red record button and then a microphone button and can choose the audio source. Before recording, user must check the availability of control at the bottom of the box. User can adjust to fit the area of dotted box which user want to record on screen. For latest update of Screencast-o-matic user must install a launcher, the current version is "Recorder v1.0." 4. If user is using Google Chrome, Screencast-o-matic may open in a pop-out window. Click "Start Recording." For problem free recording use Internet Explorer.
